Dear Harp Isles Player,

On Monday, I said something big is coming.

Here it is: Harp Isles is heading into full release.

The beta did exactly what it was meant to do. It taught us what works, what doesn't, and what this game needs to become. Now it's time to build that game.

How the beta ends

The beta isn't going to just switch off one day. We're planning a proper ending, with real goals to complete before it closes. Beat the beta, and you'll earn an achievement you can show off in the full release, proof you were here from the start.

And we want you to help shape what that ending looks like.

We're opening a dedicated suggestions thread where you can tell us what beating the beta should mean. Challenges, milestones, bosses, crazy ideas... throw them in. You've played this game more than anyone, so you're the right people to ask.

No new content in the beta

Let's be straight about this one: there won't be any new content added to the beta from here on out.

We're a small team. If we split our time between patching new things into the beta and building the full release, both would suffer. So we're putting everything we have into the full game.

The beta stays open. You can keep playing, keep grinding, and keep working toward beating it. We're just not adding to it anymore.

What's coming in the full release

This isn't a content update. It's a rebuild.

A huge amount of the game's systems are being recoded from the ground up. That means fixing the problems at the root, so you're not hitting the same bugs again and again.

We're also significantly improving the core foundation of the game, so it's way more fun and actually worth playing for the long haul. Remember what I said about functionally changing how you interact with the game? This is where that happens.

When it's done, it's going to feel like a brand new game. But it will still have the same heart that made you fall in love with Harp Isles in the first place.

Your creatures are safe

A rebuild this big might make you wonder what happens to everything you've already earned. So let me put that worry to rest right now.

You won't lose progression on the creatures you've already unlocked. Every creature you've worked so hard for comes with you into the full release.

When?

I'm going to be honest with you here, because I'd rather be honest than make a promise we can't keep.

We can't give you an exact date yet. Rebuilding this much of the game is a big job, and we're not 100% sure how long every piece will take. Throwing out a date now just to give you a date wouldn't be fair to you.

What I can promise is this: you won't be left in the dark. We'll be posting updates on a consistent basis, and as the work comes together, the timeline will get clearer and clearer. You'll see it take shape with us.

What's next

Keep an eye out for the beta suggestions thread. That's where your input starts shaping the ending of the beta.

The best version of Harp Isles is still ahead of us. I can't wait to show you.

See you in the Isles,

Batman
